These are "save the date" notices that I designed for the opening of MOCAD (Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit). We never made more than these two. I worked on them after doing the MOCAD website. I was trying to apply this semi-coherent idea of color-shifts and color-production to these. I tried to 'build up' the color one color at a time using very thin angled lines that were near the limit of what my color laser printer could actually print. The idea was that each card would be a little bit different because it would have been built up with different sets of colors. It turned out to be very difficult to produce though and I wasted a lot of paper. These were the only two that I managed to make successfully, and the color ended up seeming a bit more washed out than I'd hoped. Plus the whole idea was a bit convoluted and difficult to explain.
